Shirdi is a town in the state of Maharashtra, in western India. It's known as the former home of revered spiritual leader Sai Baba, and as a major pilgrimage site.
Shirdi is well connected by road from all the main cities of India. One can also take trains to the cities of Mumbai, Pune, Nashik, Manmad and then take a private vehicle or a bus to reach Shirdi. Another way is by air to the cities of Pune and Mumbai and then a travel via road to reach Shirdi.
The best time to visit Shirdi is between June and February, i.e. during the monsoons (June to September) and the winter season (October to February). Shirdi is mostly visited for religious purposes, primarily to offer prayers at the famed Shirdi Sai Baba Temple. The climate during these months stays quite bearable for tourists. So whether one is exploring the town or standing in long lines for darshan, monsoons and winters provide quite a respite from the otherwise hot and humid weather in Shirdi.
