Overview
West India Lion Safari, a tour package of 8
nights and 9 days, offers you a chance to spot the big cats and Asiatic Wild
Ass, respectively, during your visits to the Gir National Park and the Rann of
Kutch. These are two extremely well-known wildlife reserves in the western part
of the country. During the itinerary, you also indulge in sightseeing in
Gondal, an erstwhile princely state.

DAY 01: ARRIVE IN MUMBAI
In time arrive at Mumbai
International Airport & transfer to your pre-booked hotel. Day free at your
own. Overnight at hotel.
DAY 02: MUMBAI - RAJKOT - GIR NATIONAL
PARK
On the morning of day 2, get
on-time transfer to the airport to board a flight to Rajkot. On reaching
Rajkot, hit the road to Gir National Park, popular for being the last habitat
of the endangered Asiatic Lions. On reaching, complete the check-in formalities
at your jungle lodge. The evening is scheduled for jeep safari into the park,
accompanied by a naturalist. Overnight in Gir.
DAY 03-04: GIR
Days 3 and 4 are for morning and
evening wild safaris in the national park. During the safaris, you spot animal
species such as Four-horned Antelope, Sambar, Wild Boar, Chital, Nilgai,
Chinkara etc. The national park also boasts of housing as many as 250 species
of birds including peregrine falcon, Pallas's fish eagle, Eurasian griffon
vulture, Indian white-backed vulture, white-eyed buzzard as well as endangered
ones like Saras crane. Enjoy dinner around bonfire. Treat your eyes to the surrounding
lush greenery.
DAY 05: GIR - GONDAL
Post breakfast, depart for Gondal
by road. It is an erstwhile princely town. On arrival, check-in at your
pre-booked hotel. Later, leave for exploring the popular attractions of Gondal
including the Naulakha Palace Museum-housing a collection of royal artifacts,
Swaminarayan temple – erected by Shastriji Maharaj and the Ayurvedic pharmacy.
Later, leave for a tour of the Maharaja's private grasslands where you can spot
Blackbuck and blue bulls roaming freely and later the town’s the bird-rich
lakes. Overnight stay.
DAY 06: GONDAL - DASADA
On the 6th day of the tour, you
will begin driving towards Dasada after having a scrumptious breakfast. Dasada
is known as the gateway to the Little Rann of Kutch. It is famous for
Dhrangadhra Sanctuary, a well-known wildlife reserve of the western part of the
country. On arriving, check-in at the pre-booked resort. In the evening, enjoy
a jeep game safari inside the national park, accompanied by a local guide. Stay
overnight at the resort in Dasada.
DAY 07: RANN OF KUTCH, DASADA
Day 7 is scheduled for morning
and evening game safari into the national park. During the safari, you spot
animal species such as Indian antelope, blue bull, desert cats, cobra, Indian
rat snake, hares, Indian fox, desert fox, hyenas, jackals, etc. The reserve is
a UNESCO World Heritage Site, because of its varied biosphere. Overnight in the
resort.
DAY 08: DASADA - AHMEDABAD
Post breakfast, hit the road to
Ahmedabad, popular as Manchester of the East'. On arrival, complete the
check-in formalities at your hotel. The rest of the day is free for leisure
activities. You can interact with the locals, visit the well-known tourist attractions,
taste the local renditions etc. Stay overnight.
DAY 09: AHMEDABAD - MUMBAI DEPARTURE
In time, transfer to airport to
board on flight for onward destinations.
