Overview
An excellent
opportunity to explore the attractions and wildlife of the North-eastern part
of India. During the tour, you are going to visit the popular tourist
attractions of Delhi and Kalimpong. The itinerary also includes visits to the
very famous wildlife reserves of Kaziranga National Park, Sundarbans and
Sajnekhali bird sanctuary. The attractions of the tour are an elephant safari
and a boat ride.

Day 01: Arrive
Delhi & Transfer to pre-booked hotel
Day 02: Delhi
Day 2 of the
tour is booked for sightseeing in New Delhi. Today you are going to visit India
Gate, President House, the complex of Qutab Minar and Humayun's tomb. Stay
overnight.
Day 03: Delhi
Post-breakfast,
you are going on a tour of Old Delhi. You are going to cover the popular
attractions such as Red Fort, Jama Masjid, Raj Ghat and so on. Have your lunch.
Relax for some time. In the evening, indulge in shopping at the popular markets
of the city. Stay overnight.
Day 04: Delhi
– Guwahati (Flight) & drive to Kaziranga National Park (200 Kms, approx 04
hrs)
In the
morning, get an on-time transfer to the Delhi airport to board a flight to
Guwahati. On arrival, get transported the Kaziranga National Park by road. On
arrival, check into your lodge. This World Heritage Site houses 2-3rd of the
population of One-horned rhinos. Enjoy a tribal or Bihu dance performance in
the evening. Dinner around bonfire. Overnight in the lodge.
Day 05: Kaziranga
National Park
In the
morning enjoy nature walk and later a safari into the park to spot animals like
Indian Muntjac, wild boar, hog deer, Swamp Francolin, Bengal Florican and many
more. In the evening, visit a tribal village and observe the silk worm rearing
here. Dinner and overnight in the lodge.
Day 06: Kaziranga
National Park
On day 6,
enjoy an early morning Elephant safari into the national park. In the afternoon
after lunch, you are going to visit a tea garden and a tea factory. Savor
lip-smacking dishes during dinner at a tea garden bungalow. Overnight stay.
Day 07: Kaziranga
– Guwahati (Drive) – Bagdogra (Flight) – Kalimpong (76 Kms, approx 03 hrs)
In the
morning, return to Guwahati airport to board a flight to Bagdogra. After
arriving at Bagdogra, get transported to Kalimpong by road. Kalimpong is a
popular tourist attraction of North-East India, primarily because of its scenic
landscape and pleasant temperature. On arrival, check into your hotel. Relax.
Have dinner and retire into your rooms for overnight.
Day 08: Kalimpong
After
breakfast, the morning is free for leisure activities. In the afternoon, visit
the attractions of Kalimpong which might include The Roman Catholic Church,
Kalimpong Cactus Nursery, Deolo hill etc. Stay overnight.
Day 09: Kalimpong
- Siliguri – Kolkata (Train)
Early
morning enjoy rafting in river Teesta. Later, hit the road to drive towards the
New Jalpaigudi Railway Station, Siliguri. Board an overnight train to Kolkata.
Day
10: Kolkata
Arrive in
Kolkata and transfer to a hotel. Enjoy a full day sightseeing tour of the City
of Joy - Kolkata. Overnight at a hotel.
Day
11: Kolkata - Sundarbans National Park
After
breakfast, proceed towards Basanti Port to get into a boat for Sundarbans. Once
you arrive at the Sundarbans, get on-board a motorized cruise towards
Sajnekhali Bird Watching. Enjoy bird watching and wildlife viewing aboard this
dedicated launch where you can spot egrets, herons, Royal Bengal Tiger; Fishing
Cats, Leopard Cats, Macaques, Wild Boar, Indian Grey Mongoose, Fox, Jungle Cat,
etc. Spend a night in the launch.
Day
12: Sundarbans National Park
A full- day
cruise across mangrove creeks, enjoying wildlife viewing and bird. Lunch
on-board. Reach Sajnekhali by the sunset. In the evening, watch Slide show on
wildlife with tea and snacks at the Mangrove Interpretation Centre. Dinner and
night stay in the boat.
Day
13: Sundarbans National Park - Kolkata
In the
morning, enjoy a cycle rickshaw ride to the Rangabelia Tagore Society where you
will observe the rural development project. Back to Basanti Port in the
afternoon. Get transported to Kolkata by car. Stay overnight in Kolkata.
Day
14: Kolkata / Departure
In time
transfer to airport to board on flight for onward destination.
