There is, however, no direct flight connectivity to Murudeshwar. The nearest airport is in Mangalore, approximately 137 km away from Murudeshwar.

October to May is the best time to visit Murudeshwar. MahaShivaratri is an important festival here and is celebrated with great enthusiasm. It typically occurs in the month of February or March.

Murudeshwar is home to the second tallest statue of Lord Shiva (123 ft) in the world.
